One of my most popular recipes is stuffed celery dip that my mom used to make when I was a youngun’. This Bacon Bomb recipe was born out of taking the concept of my Mom’s holiday treat dip and putting together some of my favorite things into a dip. Now I make up a batch of this stuff at the beginning of every week and it is my go to for a quick high fat-low-carb snack. It’s delicious and might even be made out of things you already have in your fridge! It’s ironic to think that we only had fatty treats around holidays and every other time it seemed taboo (fat does not make you fat after all).

Whether you are looking for something to dip vegetables in, spread across deli meat or stuff inside an avocado, this bacon dip is sure to be a crowd pleaser! Whip this bacon dip up in 5 minutes and it will be on standby anytime you are needing something filling and satisfying. Seriously, this is such an easy appetizer. Make for party relish tray, Thanksgiving appetizers, or like I do, just to have around 🙂
What other diet allows you to eat cream cheese and bacon to lose weight and heal disease? You may be wondering what the “macros” are for this recipe. I have not formally calculated them because when I personally track this recipe on CarbManager app, I just track it as how many tablespoons of cream cheese and bacon it looks like I’m having 🙂 I find this a less obsessive way to keep track of my carbs to make sure I’m keeping them low. I’ll tell you, there aren’t going to be many carbs, and the fat is very high. Both thumbs way up for this on the Keto front.

Let’s get down to the recipe. Nothing worse than when you have to scroll 5 pages to get to the recipe!! Ugh!
The Bacon BOMB Dip
Ingredients:
16 oz of cream cheese (2 blocks)
1 cup of sour cream
1/2 cup mayo
1 cup of cheddar cheese (mild, sharp, yellow, white, your choice!)
1 1/2 cup of real bacon bits
1oz packet of ranch dip dry mix
1 tsp dry dill or fresh (optional)
1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)
extra salt and pepper to taste*
*the bacon and ranch dip are already pretty salty, but due to needing extra salt on keto, I often find myself preferring it a little saltier. More about that below…
Mix all ingredients either with hand or standing mixer until smooth and refrigerate until ready to serve. It’s THAT easy!
As I mentioned in the recipe note, you often lose more water when doing a low carb diet and salt is lost along with it. If you suffer with Keto flu at all, chances are MORE salt will clear this up in a hurry. This recipe provides a very satisfying and tasty way to get in the extra sodium needed. An added bonus is that this recipe can also be classified “carnivore” if your carnivore diet includes dairy.
Suggested use of this dip includes…
- pork rinds
- celery, cucumber or other low carb vegetables
- pepperoni or salami
- spread for deli meat roll ups
- pickles
- beef jerky
- low carb BLT tortilla pinwheels
If you’d like to play around with the recipe and try marscapone instead of sour cream or goat cheese, swiss or any other variation, I’d love to hear what you come up with! Please leave me a comment and Pin this recipe to share with others down below the post. I hope you enjoy this Bacon Bomb dip…or the Bomb Bacon Dip, or or……just try it, you won’t be sorry!
