These burgers were last nights dinner and they were delicious! As some of you may know, I am posting about a month of easy Keto meal plans and each week of meals gets posted after we have eaten them so as to assure that the carb counts are true to even the strictest of Keto standards. These burgers are no deviation from that mentality as they are only around 1 carb each!
The avocado is mixed in for a moist burger, the bacon and cheese give you that #naughtynotnaughty satisfaction of an end of the week reward for working hard and sticking to your healthy ventures all week; and what better way to celebrate than to KEEP sticking to your healthy eating ventures by food that tastes like a cheat, but couldn’t be further from it! Let’s do this recipe thang!
Bacon Wrapped Avocado Cheese Burgers
2.5 lb. Grass Fed Beef
1 egg
2 tbsp coconut flour
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 tbsp minced garlic
1 Tbsp Bragg’s liquid aminos
1/2 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp dried oregano
Flesh of 1 Haas Avocado
15 strips bacon
optional 15 sliced Colby or American cheese
Preheat oven to 400º and line a baking sheet with foil (add a cooling rack to pan for crispier bacon). Mix by hand or paddle attachment all ingredients and form into patties (palm sized when pressed down) and then place them on a piece of bacon folding over the bacon and setting the patties on the end of the bacon to hold it down while cooking. Bake them for 30-40 minutes depending on size. Add cheese slices if desired and broil for 2 minutes or until very melty.
